What does the Heart have to do with Achieving Your Ideal Weight?
Introducing "Big on the Inside" by Jacinta Noonan and "Mind your Stress" by Mary Jane Roy. This is a two hour presentation providing insights, information, and tips for those wishing to achieve an emotional balance and eliminate emotional eating.

Big on the Inside is the name Jacinta has given for the paradoxical twist many experience - feeling small on the inside while feeling big on the outside. It's often the missing or ignored link in the battle to lose weight. In her one hour session, you will learn why diets are not the answer and what to do instead. You will discover that developing and nurturing yourself on the inside, has a direct effect on what happens to you on the outside.

In her Mind your Stress presentation, Mary Jane will share with you tips and information about what stress is, how it affects us, and how to recognize the triggers which set the stress cycle in motion. It will be an information- packed one hour session in which she will also share a simple technique you can use anywhere, anyplace to transform your stress reaction into a supportive emotion.

The fee for this 2 hour presentation is €20,- inclusive VAT, coffee and tea, and a summary of both presentations.

When I am Thinner, I Will…. Why putting your life on hold is never the answer
Many women go day-to-day with their life on hold, thinking that only when they reach a certain weight will “real” life really begin. This type of self-talk does not help you to lose weight, and can hinder you from achieving your dreams. Learn how to free yourself from these empty promises, and get out there and get what you want right now, without waiting until you get to the “right” weight.

 

Are Diets Really the Answer to Long-Lasting Weight loss?  To Diet or Not?
Do you go from diet to diet, trying everything on offer, and wondering why the weight doesn’t stay off? In this session we’ll look at the positives and negatives of dieting. We’ll show you how to choose a diet based on sound knowledge and fact, and how to stop yourself from being sucked into the latest fad. We’ll also look at issues of motivation, the importance of goal setting, and get you ready to make a positive, and empowered start to any new eating program you undertake.

 

The Truth About Fat Cells – Why Knowing How they Work is So Important
This is absolutely essential knowledge for achieving long term results! So many women diet and obsess over food, without ever really understanding how the fat cells in our bodies actually work. When you understand how these little babies operate, and what happens to the food we eat, you’ll be armed to make the right food choices everyday.

 

 The Great Binge – Why do I Keep Doing it? How can I stop? Combating overeating
All of us have experienced over-eating – where we indulge way beyond point of feeling full. But why do we do this?  And how do we stop ourselves when we feel the urge coming on? In this talk, we will explore what is going on during these binge episodes, we help you to understand what triggers them, and give you the weapons you need to fight off the next one.

 

Food, Mood and Weight – Why Women Love to Eat Chocolate
Most women love eating chocolate, and for good reason – it makes us feel good! In this session you will learn how certain foods affect our brain chemistry, and cause us to eat more, or less. We show you how you can manage moods and eating behavior positively, just by eating the right food, and how you can use food to feel great.

 

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Which Diets Work?  
Ever wondered which is the best diet? All the most famous diets will be put up side-by-side and we’ll see which ones stack up! We’ll scrutinize them, debunk them, and by the end of the session you’ll be able to review any new diet fads with a skeptical eye. We will also talk about how to stay motivated when you’re on a diet, and provide you with strategies to stay on track when the going gets tough.

 

Facing up to the “E” Word (exercise) (How to stop feeling daunted by “exercise”)
The very idea of exercise can be daunting for many people trying to lose weight. In this session we’ll show you how to stare exercise in the face and laugh! We make exercise less scary and more achievable by showing you how to increase your physical activity in step-by-step increments. We will also talk through some of the mental blocks that hold you back from exercising and give you tips on how to overcome them. You’ll leave feeling ready to say the word “exercise” out loud, and inspired to make it a part of your everyday life.

 

Emotional Hunger and How to Control It – Understanding Emotional Hunger
Physical hunger is only one type of hunger. Emotional hunger, in all its guises (eating when we’re angry, depressed, sad, lonely, or scared) is potentially the most dangerous type of hunger for achieving our weight goals. In this session we explore emotional hunger, understand how it works, and learn useful strategies to flip it, so that it is handled in ways far more useful than putting food in your mouth.
During this talk we will also discuss useful strategies to help you deal with the Christmas period so that you maintain a healthy weight.
